How to play
- The float went missing between 02:05 and 02:30. Start with the office, then pick a line of enquiry.
- Logs, meters and punch cards contradict each other on purpose. Find the one contradiction that cannot be explained away.
- Accuse the person who took the money, and name the thing that proves it.
Tips
- The dispatcher’s twelve minutes look like the whole case. Check them before you build anything on them.
- A pump meter is a witness that never lies about gallons.
- Ask what a man washing his arms at a cold tap in November is washing off.
About this game
The 2:40 Depot is a night-shift case: rain, diesel, four people, and a safe that was opened with a key rather than forced.
The talk is mostly shift work — rota, float, pit, pump. Short lines, concrete objects, one arithmetic problem in the middle.
No download, no account, no tracking, no ads.
FAQ
Do I need to know about buses?
No. The case explains the pit, the float and the pump as they come up.
How many people can I accuse?
Three. One of them is the wrong kind of suspicious.
Is the money the point?
Partly. The interesting question is why £600 and not the £40 in the petty cash tin.
